  1. Welcome, introductions, opening announcements. Thank you all for your service this year. This will be the last meeting for several of you, and I extend a special thanks to these Council members who are cycling off: Seth Blair, Ed Jackson, Darryl Thelen, and Matthew Zinsli. I appreciate the service of Anja Wanner, Deb Shapiro, and Carol Pope who have completed their terms as shared governance appointees and may be reappointed. Donna Fernandez, Yevgenya Grinblat, and another University Committee appointee will join the council next year.

CONSENT AGENDA

  1. Automatic Consent – Minutes of the April 20, 2017, meeting. UAPC Doc 2017.06.15.01

  3. Suspend admissions to the MFA Theatre and Drama, Department of Theatre and Drama, School of Education. This action is conditional upon approval at the June, 9, 2017, Graduate Faculty Executive Committee (GFEC) meeting. This action is effective Fall 2017. The program must submit a plan to reopen or discontinue the named option by November 1, 2019. UAPC Doc 2017.06.15.03
  4. Suspend admissions and discontinue the additional major in Theatre and Drama (MAJ 971), College of Letters and Science. There was an oversight in implementing the move of the undergraduate program in Theatre and Drama from the College of Letters and Science to the School of Education. The five students who were allowed to declare the additional major have all applied to graduate in Spring 2017. The suspension of admissions is effective Summer 2017 and the discontinuation will be effective as soon as no students are enrolled in the additional major, no later than Spring 2018.   5. Suspend admissions to the named option Architectural History associated with the PhD in Art History, Department of Art History, College of Letters and Science. This action is conditional upon approval at the June, 9, 2017, Graduate Faculty Executive Committee (GFEC) meeting. This action is effective Fall 2018. The program must submit a plan to reopen or discontinue the named option by November 1, 2019. UAPC Doc 2017.06.15.05
  6. Suspend admissions to the graduate-level Certificate in Material Cultures, Department of Art History, College of Letters and Science; and School of Human Ecology. This action is conditional upon approval at the June, 9, 2017, Graduate Faculty Executive Committee (GFEC) meeting. This action is effective Fall 2017. The program must submit a plan to reopen (i.e. certificate proposal form) or discontinue the certificate by May 28, 2018. UAPC Doc 2017.06.15.06
  7. Rename the Center for Integrative Design to the Center for Design and Material Culture, School of Human Ecology. This action is effective July 1, 2017. UAPC Doc 2017.06.15.07
  8. Discontinue the Beers-Murphy Clinical Nutrition Center, School of Medicine and Public Health. The Center has ceased to exist since at least 2004. This action is effective July 1, 2017. UAPC Doc 2017.06.15.08
