1.        Automatic Consent Item – Minutes of the September 16, 2010 meeting.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.01.

2.        Information Item – Staff notes on the approval items and the Academic Program Approval Overview chart. UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.02

3.        Approval – Rename of the “African Studies Concentration” to “Certificate in African Studies”.  This request comes from the African Studies Program, College of Letters and Science.  Presenters:  Gay Seidman, Professor of Sociology and of African Studies; Gary Sandefur, Dean, College of Letters and Science.   UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.03

4.        Approval – Implement a Pre-Art Education code, Department of Art, School of Education.  The purpose of this code is for early identification and support for students who have a bachelor’s degree goal of Art Education.  Presenter: Jeff Hamm, Associate Dean, School of Education.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.04

5.        Approval – Discontinue the named option:  Interarts and Techology, within the undergraduate Dance major, Department of Dance, School of Education.   Presenter:  Jeff Hamm, Associate Dean, School of Education.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.05

6.        Approval – Discontinue the Certificate in Athletic Training, within the Department of Kinesiology, School of Education.  Presenter:  Jeff Hamm, Associate Dean, School of Education.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.06

7.        Automatic Consent –  Rename the “Laboratory of Molecular Biology” to “Laboratory of Cell and Molecular Biology”, at the request of the Graduate School.   This unit is a center-like unit for name change purposes.  This action was approved by the Graduate School Academic Planning Council at their September 2010 meeting.   UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.07

8.        Automatic Consent – Discontinue the PhD in Medical Genetics, Department of Medical Genetics, School of Medicine and Public Health.  No degree has been awarded in this program in more than 20 years.  This action was approved by the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee on October 8, 2010.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.08  

9.        Automatic Consent – Implement a named option: Executive MBA, in the MBA General Management major, School of Business.  This action was approved by the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee on October 8, 2010.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.09  

10.    Automatic Consent - Implement a named option: Evening MBA, in the MBA General Management major, School of Business.  This action was approved by the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee on April 30, 2010.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.10  

11.    Automatic Consent – Implement a new Certificate in Entrepreneurship at the graduate level, School of Business.  This action was approved by the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee on October 8, 2010.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.11

12.    Automatic Consent – Suspend admissions to the named option: Entrepreneurial Management, in the graduate-level Business major Management and Human Resources, School of Business.  This action was approved by the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee on October 8, 2010.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.12

13.    Automatic Consent – Implement a new Certificate in Organization and Technological Innovation in Society at the graduate level, School of Business.  This action was approved by the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee on October 8, 2010.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.13

14.    Automatic Consent - Suspend admissions to the named option: Strategic Management in Life and Engineering Sciences, in the graduate-level Business major Management and Human Resources, School of Business.  This action was approved by the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee on October 8, 2010.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.14

15.    Discussion – Pending proposals for BS-Environmental Science and BS/BA – Environmental Studies.  These two proposals are on schedule to advance to the provost’s office in late October and at that time we will need to identify UAPC members to chair these committees.  UAPC Doc 2010.10.21.15
